#Seniors must be trending..
When I first started indulging in the world of photography I can’t tell you the amount of hours I spent reading, researching, and stalking all things photography.
I immediately enrolled in this life changing blessing of a course instructed by one of the best husband and wife wedding photography duos in the world. They are not just wedding photographers they are also amazing educators and this course brought me to one of my favorite groups and THE best resource I have as a photographer. All of the people throughout the world who are enrolled in this course share tips, give advice, and willingly help each other .. as a community… nicely.
Basically, for a beginner, it is a safe haven for a photographer.
You can ask all the stupid questions you want and you will not be judged (at least not to your social media face) …
I stalked all these amazing photographers on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest…. and one thing struck me as sooooooo strange.. All these hashtags “#seniors”. I kept thinking to myself, man a lot of people photograph seniors…, weird. I mean I would see posts like “What to do with seniors during their session…”, “How to pose seniors 101”.. and the whole time I thought to myself.. I seriously can not believe there is that big of a market for photographing seniors.. …. Senior Citizens…
[ must be one of those fads going around like the milk baths for pregnant women …………]
Where they soak in breast milk, powdered milk, Vitamin D milk, FULLY CLOTHED IN A GOWN or BUTT NAKED……., surrounded by floating floral arrangements, with their huge ass belly poking right out.
[It’s absurd. But I love it. But wtf right..]
So maybe …… photographing old people is something trending the world wide web. But I kept saying.. it’s just freaking weird, I never see two old people .. like all holding each other, nuzzling into each other’s wrinkles giggling in the wilderness…
But whatever, if it is something people want.. I’m down. No judgement here. Let’s go find me some old people …..
I had to see what all the fuss was about, so I go to this so called Facebook “safe haven” group …and commented on a post that read something like this:
“Seniors are my favorite!!!!!!! Can’t wait to share the amazing images I took this afternoon more to come…. ” (googley moji face with heart eyes)
[I had HAD enough, I commented..]
“Man, how do you guys find so many senior citizens who want to take pictures.. is this just something that hasn’t hit the east coast yet????”
Girl replies: “They are high school seniors……”
Embarrassed… so obviously I immediately blocked her and deleted my comment…..
Never in a million years would I have come up with high school seniors….
But here we are..and Tuesday I had my first legit HIGH SCHOOL senior session and it was amazing. I coached Kaiya during travel volleyball last year & it was even more cool that my first #senior session was of a former player! Check out these great photos we took at Sinking Creek Farm!
